Getting to know the Orders tab

Learn how to view and manage orders in Hotplate

Updated this week

Getting oriented

As soon as a customer places an order, it appears in your Orders tab. Swipe left and right to easily scroll through your orders.

Orders are organized into 2 tabs: Open and Done. By default, you’ll see orders with a fulfillment date in the future.

In the top right of your screen, you can Sort and Filter your orders to see exactly what you’re looking for.

If you’re on desktop, you can switch between Ticket, List, or Grid view in the top right.

  • Use Ticket view to swipe through individual tickets

  • Use List view for a spreadsheet-like view of your orders. Hit ‘Columns’ to select the columns you want to see.

Order tickets

The order ticket shows the name of the customer, the order number, pickup day and time, and items ordered. You’ll also see a badge indicating if the customer is new or returning. Drop after drop, you’ll see those order streaks build up 📈

Managing orders

Click on a ticket for an expanded view. You’ll see 4 quick actions at the top:

For more options, click the 3 dots in the bottom right.

To keep things organized, we have tools for you to easily track your work as you pack and fulfill orders, so that you know what’s done and what’s left.

How to mark items packed

Once you’ve packed an item, check the box to the right of it on the ticket.

How to mark orders done

Once a customer picks up their order, click ‘Mark done’ at the bottom of the ticket. The ticket will move from Open —> Done.

If you have your Order Completed reminder [🔗 to Reminders] turned on, customers will receive a text notification when you mark their ticket done.

If you accidentally mark an order done, go to the Done tab and Sort by Last updated (Newest —> Oldest). The most recently updated ticket will appear first. You can click Mark open to move it back to the Open tab.

To mark all orders done, switch to Table view. Select orders one at a time or select all using the check boxes on the far right column, and then click Mark done at the bottom.

If you need to create an order on behalf of a customer, click ‘Create’ in the top right [🔗 to How to create an order].

How to print your orders

  1. Go to your Orders tab

  2. Click the triple dot in the top right

  3. Hit Print orders

You can select between standard 8.5 x 11” paper or various label sizes if you’re hooked up to a label printer.
