The default checkout time is 5 minutes. Here's how to change this:
Go to your drop
Go to the Summary tab
Click Additional options
Next to Checkout time, click 5 minutes and select a different interval. The checkout time can be set to 3, 5, 10, 20, 30, or 60 minutes.
Once a customer adds an item to cart, they have a limited amount of time to checkout before their cart expires. When their cart expires, items in the cart are released so that someone else can buy them. Customers see their checkout timer floating at the bottom of their screen as they’re shopping and once they proceed to checkout.
Can I let my customers have unlimited time to checkout?
No, a checkout time limit is required.
A checkout timer makes sure inventory isn't trapped in abandoned carts. When the timer expires, the inventory that was in that cart is released so someone else can buy it.
Many chefs sell out quickly and notify thousands of customers as soon as their Drop goes live. The timer helps ensure inventory goes to customers who are ready to check out and not stuck in abandoned carts.
It also creates urgency. When customers see their timer counting down, they’re more likely to check out quickly, helping you sell out faster.
