How to request delivery setup, what to send, and delivery FAQs

Our delivery feature isn't self-serve yet, but you can request setup from the Hotplate team. Use this guide to request delivery, avoid setup delays, and preserve your delivery settings for future drops.

Request delivery setup

1) Complete the delivery spreadsheet

Make a copy of our Delivery Setup Request sheet.

Add one row per ZIP code with:

  • ZIP code

  • Delivery fee for that ZIP

Important: please make sure sharing permissions allow our team to open the sheet.

2) Email support with your setup details

Email [email protected] and include:

  1. Link to your completed delivery sheet

  2. Minimum subtotal for delivery (optional)

  3. Minimum subtotal for free delivery (optional)

  4. Customer contact to show if someone is outside your zone (phone, email, or IG)

  5. Whether you want a delivery-only drop or pickup + delivery

3) Sit tight!

Our team configures delivery on the backend and will follow up when it’s ready.

Delivery is a fulfillment option in Hotplate; it is not connected to any third-party courier services.

After setup: keep delivery working on future drops

When we set up delivery, it’s configured as a type of fulfillment window for a specific drop, rather than a global setting applied to your account. In order to preserve those settings for future drops, you’ll have to duplicate the drop template we give you, then make any changes. If you create an entirely new drop, you will not see Delivery as an option.

  • Duplicate a drop with delivery to preserve delivery settings.

  • Duplicate delivery windows when adding more delivery days/times.

  • If you create a brand-new drop (instead of duplicating), delivery settings will not carry over.

  • If delivery stops appearing, check for the yellow "Delivery" badge on both the drop and the delivery window. If you don't see them in both places, delivery settings aren't applied.

FAQs

How long should I expect delivery setup to take?

Typically 1-2 days. Please give us as much heads up as you can, and let us know if you're trying to go live with a delivery drop and need it setup sooner.

Can I update ZIP codes or delivery fees later?

Yes. Send an updated sheet to support and we can apply the changes.

Can I offer delivery-only (no pickup)?

Yes. Tell us you want delivery-only and we'll disable pickup for your template.

Can I target only part of a ZIP code?

Not yet. Delivery eligibility is currently ZIP-based, not custom map/radius zones.

Where do I find customer delivery addresses?

Customers are prompted for an address only when delivery is enabled on your drop. Their addresses will appear on order tickets.
