If you used the old portal, Prep used to do two jobs at once: (1) show totals of what you need to make and (2) act like a fulfillment tracker as orders moved through packed/done status.
After lots of feedback calls, we learned this was very confusing to chefs - both new and seasoned.
In the new portal, those jobs are split across two views so each one is clearer.
What changed from old Prep
Old portal Prep: planning + fulfillment progress were combined in one screen.
New portal Prep tab: planning totals (what to make), much clearer list format without so many buttons.
New portal Pickup report: fulfillment progress (what is packed/done and what is still open).
Prep vs Pickup report (quick difference)
Use Prep tab when you need production totals by item.
Use Pickup report when you need to see packed and done progress for orders and items.
How to use the Prep tab
Go to Prep.
Open Filter in the top right.
Select the date range and/or specific drop(s) you want.
Use totals as your production list.
Optional: type prepped quantity to track your bake/prep progress on that page.
Important: Prep totals do not automatically change when orders are marked packed/done. That progress lives in Pickup report.
How to use Pickup report
Go to Orders.
Open your Pickup report (graph/report button in top right).
Use the day/pickup-time view to run handoff operations.
Track how many orders/items are packed, done, and still pending.
Recommended workflow
Before production: use Prep for item totals.
During fulfillment: use Pickup report to manage packed/done status.
If printing: apply filters first so you only print the period/drop you need.
FAQs
Why am I seeing last week’s orders in Prep?
Your current filter likely includes those dates/drops. Set your Filter to the specific date range or drop(s) for the current production window.
Why don’t items disappear from Prep when I mark orders packed/complete?
That is expected in the new portal. Prep is planning totals; packed/done progress is tracked in Pickup report (on the Orders tab).
Where do I find total items for the day?
Use Prep with date/drop filters for production totals and toggle to By Day. For operations during Pickup, use Pickup report from Orders.
Can I prep across multiple drops at once?
Yes. In Prep, open Filter, select multiple drops, click Apply.
My Prep printout is too long or not grouped the way I expect.
Filter first (date/drop), then print. If you need to see how many items or orders have yet to be marked packed/done, use Pickup report instead of Prep.
