Hotplate offers two types of delivery: third-party delivery and self-delivery. Most chefs use third-party -- it takes one click to set up, there's nothing to configure, and local couriers handle all the driving. Self-delivery is available for chefs who have an established subscriber base and prefer to deliver themselves.
Third-party delivery (recommended)
Give your customers another way to get their food. Once it's on your account, enabling delivery on a drop takes one click. Local couriers pick up each order directly from you and deliver it to your customer's door -- you stay put and focus on the food.
How much does it cost you? Nothing. Your customer pays the delivery fee, which is calculated by the driver network based on distance and availability. You keep 100% of your product revenue.
Eligibility
Third-party delivery is currently available in select states. Go to Settings → Delivery to check if it's on your account. If you don't see it but want to try it, email [email protected]. Once it's on your account, you can enter your pickup address to confirm your location is eligible.
Self-delivery
Self-delivery is for chefs who want to handle their own deliveries. You define the delivery zip codes and fees, and you do the driving.
Eligibility
Self-delivery requires a minimum of 50 subscribers and 5 completed orders. If you meet those requirements and want to set it up, email [email protected]. If you're eligible, we'll request the information we need to configure your settings.
Setup takes 2–3 business days.
