Hotplate handles most customer communication through automated reminders. From your Inbox, you can also message customers directly or send a text blast (link).
How to message a customer from the Inbox
Go to your Inbox
Click Message at the top
Search for the customer you want to message
Write your message
Send
How to message a customer from their order
Go to the Orders tab
Tap on the order ticket
Click Message at the top of the ticket
It's easy to message a customer from anywhere else in the portal, too. Just click on the customer's name, then hit Message at the bottom.
Can customers message me?
Yes! Once you message a customer, they can reply.
After they checkout, customers can also click Message on their order confirmation page. This page is also linked in all pickup reminders.
??If you do not want customers to be able to start messaging you, you can turn this off in your Settings under Chat.
How do I know if a customer messaged me?
You'll see a red dot on your Inbox tab when you have an unread message. If you’re not active in your portal, you will also get a text letting you know you have unread messages.
When you send a message to one of your customers, they’ll receive text and email notifications.
