When will I get my 1099K tax form?
Last updated December 3, 2025
If you’ve processed over a certain amount in 2025, you will receive a Form 1099K from Hotplate. We are required to produce this form to let the IRS know how many dollars were processed on Hotplate for you, if you exceeded this threshold.
In accordance with the IRS, you will only receive a 1099K for 2025 if you processed more than $20K and 200 transactions through Hotplate, or met your state-specific threshold. Lower state-specific thresholds include:
- Maryland (MD): ≥ $600
- Massachusetts (MA): ≥ $600
- Vermont (VT): ≥ $600
- Virginia (VA): ≥ $600
- Illinois (IL): > $1,000 and 4+ separate transactions
You should receive your 1099K by January 31st, 2026 via email from Track 1099.
- Please note that if you submit your tax information in the last week of January, you are likely to get a delayed 1099K in early February.
If you have any issues or questions, email us at support@hotplate.com and we’ll be happy to help! Please remember that our team can help with technical questions, but you should consult your accountant for any tax related questions.
FAQs
Are cash, Venmo, or Zelle payments included in my 1099K?
- No. Your 1099K only reflects payments processed on Hotplate. Orders paid for outside of Hotplate aren't reflected on your 1099K.
How is my tax information collected?
- Your tax information will be collected through our secure payment and payout partner, Stripe. When you get set up with Stripe on the payout tab, you'll start by selecting whether or not you have an EIN, then confirm your business / personal details.
Why are the totals on my 1099K different from my payout amounts?
- Your 1099K reflects total dollars processed on Hotplate, which means everything the customer paid (subtotal, tip, tax, payment processing fees or Hotplate fees depending on your customized fee split). This amount is different from your revenue/payout.
- To get to the total dollars processed number, you can
- Go to the Payout tab
- Filter the date range for 2024
- Sum up the columns that customers pay
- If you have external payments enabled, remember to exclude these, as they aren't reflected on your 1099K. You can filter the Payment Type column (AG) to view Card transactions only.
What if my name or EIN is wrong on my 1099K?
- This may happen if the W9 we had on file for you was outdated. We will most likely need you to send us an updated one. You can download a blank W9 through the IRS's website .
